Autumn term 1: Thursday 3rd September – Friday 16th October 2026
Opening Hours are 7.30 am - 5.30pm.
We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and enjoyed the sunshine.
The summer holiday club has been successful with many children attending from Brighstone and Niton.
We welcome lots of new families to our setting here at Brighstone Preschool and we wish our school leavers a good first term at Primary school.
We have a couple of staffing changes coming back after the summer holidays.
Rosanna returns from maternity leave! Chloe, Holly, Emma, Vikki and Alexx remain with our children being inspiration educators. ️
Jade our wonderful cleaner remains every evening maintaining our Health and Safety standards.
We are saying goodbye to Izzy, she off to new adventures!
We will be welcoming Amelie to Under’s area, undergoing a level 3 apprenticeship! She has been a familiar face over the summer holidays! We look forward to welcoming her in to the Brighstone preschool team!
We are sure she will be amazing and fit straight in!
We also welcome Claire from our sister setting at Niton joining our team.

Preschool Hours
Please make sure that you stick to the hours you have booked for your child.
The preschool days and outings are planned around these times.

Reporting an absence from preschool.
In order to keep preschool illness free, we ask that if your child is unwell or that you have had to administer calpol or ibuprofen, do not send them in.
Please telephone and advise us of any absence on 07707319843 or email brighstonepresschool@gmail.com or record on Famly with a reason.
The current legislation is that children and staff should remain at home for 48 hours after the las bout of diarrhoea or vomiting.
We are using the Famly app
This is an all in one early childhood platform, that gives you real time updates on your child's day straight to an app on your phone. We use this for :
- -Invoicing for preschool services (invoice received from no-reply@famly.co)
- -Signing in and out each day.
- -Notifications: accidents, incidents, medication for all children, collection by another adult. All accidents and incidents need to be acknowledge by parents theses are a legal document.
Please make us aware of any pre exciting injuries or medication, we must record.
- -Notification of sleep and nappy changing.
- -Your child’s developmental Learning Journal.

Thank you for your support and kindness of donations with Shorwell Fair they have kindly donated Brighstone Preschool £250.00
Spare Clothes
Please check your bags have a fresh set of weather-appropriate clothes in their bag daily.
Family Photo.
Please email us, a family photo of you and your child, pets can be included too.
We use family photos in the Preschool on our home corner walls.
We believe this :
Promotes a Sense of Belonging Children feel more secure and valued when they see familiar faces in the
environment. Reinforces the connection between home and school
Supports Emotional Development Helps children self-regulate by providing comfort during transitions or
moments of distress. Encourages conversations about feelings and relationships.
Enhances Communication and Language Children naturally talk about their family, which promotes vocabulary and storytelling. Staff can use the photos as prompts for meaningful conversations
Wow moments.
Please email or communicate via famly to hare any WOW moments we can add to our Achievements wall to celebrate your children.
Dropping off and collecting your child.
Please make sure that there is only 1 adult (family) in the Foyer collecting or dropping off at any one time.
Communication is key.
Please respect other parents this can be a vital time for communication between keyworkers and parents.
Any changes to your child’s life are important to share with us, any concerns or questions please share these with a member of staff.
A child’s daily preschool bag should contain.
- Any Breakfast if required.
- Morning snacks to have around 9.30 / 10 am.
- Please provide a healthy snack, we recommend a piece of fruit, yoghurt or cheese.
- Lunch box or School Dinner
- School Dinners are available from Chartwells caterers £4.02 per meal via bacs. Please book before 9.00 am or in advance on booking form..
- Packed Lunches: Please provide your child with a named lunch box.
- May we politely remind you to be mindful of the contents when sending lunch boxes into preschool.
- Think about eating fewer processed and ultra processed foods.
- Please DO NOT SEND IN : Peanuts, Sausages, Popcorn as these are classed as a high risk choking hazard.
- Cut gapes length ways.
- Brighstone preschool discourage: squash/ fruit shoots and fizzy drinks. No sweets or lollipops.
- We reserve the right to return this food to the parent.
- No Water Bottles in the setting please, we use fresh, cool water from a fountain with cups.
- Nappies and Wipes.
- Any comforter for a sleep.
- Spare set of clothes.
Please make sure that your child’s bag is specific to preschool.
No TOYS at Preschool!
Please DO NOT allow your child to bring toys to preschool. They get lost, broken and can cause a choking hazard if not age appropriate
Thank you for your co-operation.
Fees update. Please note there will be a fee increase effective from 1st September 2026
We accept government funding and payment through tax free childcare.
Code required is: Niton Preschool.
9 months -1 year £8.00 an hour
1 year- 2 years £7.25 an hour
2- 3 years £7.00 an hour
3- school age £6.50
Government Funding: Make sure you confirm funding every 3 months when requested.
Wrap around care
Breakfast Club for school age children: 7.30-8.25 am £6.00
Afterschool Club for school age children: 3.00- 5.30pm £6.00 an hour + 25p Snack
Please clear any outstanding bills.
