Summer Term 2: Tuesday 3rd June 2025 – Friday 25th July 2025

Opening Hours are 7.30 am - 5.30 pm.


We look forward to a busy 8 weeks at Preschool, children transitioning up to Primary School and new adventures for others.

We would like to thank you for all your support with our promise board.

Please make sure you are aware of dates for your diaries. 


Our stories and songs of the week will be:

Week 1: 2nd June 2025: Sharing a Shell. If your happy and you know it.
Week 2: 9th June 2025: The snail and the Whale. 5 speckled frogs
Week 3: 16th June 2025: Tiddler. Tiny Turtle
Week 4: 23rd June 2025: What the Lady bird heard at the seaside. 5 little seashells
Week 5: 30th June 2025: The singing Mermaid. Row Row, Row your boat
Week 6: 7th July 2025: Fidgety Fish. 1,2,3,4,5 Once I caught a fish a life.
Week 7: 14th July 2025: Puddles big step. 5 little ducks
Week 8: 21st July 2025: My school Unicorn. Head Shoulder�s Knees and Toes.

Our weekly visits to the library for children 3+ will continue (Alternate Tuesday and Thursdays). 

Preschool Hours

Please make sure that you stick to the hours you have book for your child.

The preschool days and outings are planned around these times.

Summer Holiday Club

Open to children 9 months – 11 years.

Bookings to be made by FRIDAY 4th JULY 2025.


Communication is key.

 

Any WOW moments, concerns or questions please share these with a member of staff or your child’s Key worker.

Dropping off and collecting your child.

 

Please make sure that there is only 1 adult in the Foyer collecting or dropping off at any one time. Please respect other parents' space.

Morning Snack: 9.30am -10.30am

Please provide a healthy snack, we recommend a piece of fruit, yoghurt or cheese.

 

No Water Bottles in the setting please, we use fresh, cool water from a fountain with cups provided.

 

School Dinners are available from Chartwells caterers £3.72 per meal. Please book before 9.00 am.

 

Pack Lunches:  Please provide your child with a named lunch box. May we politely remind you to be mindful of the contents when sending lunch boxes into preschool. think about eating fewer processed and ultra processed foods in your child's lunch box

 

If your child’s lunch box If your child has : Peanuts, Sausages, Popcorn we will be sending them home with you. These are classed as a high risk choking hazard.

6/6/25: Isle Imagine 12.00 social, meeting parents.

11/6/25 | 10.45-11.30 Mrs Cousins’ class with preschool staff.

12/6/25 | 1.30-2.30 Parents stay and play Mrs Cousins class.

17/6/25 | 10.45-11.30 Mrs Cousins’ class with preschool staff.

25/6/25 | 10.45-11.30 Mrs Cousins class with preschool staff.

1/7/25 | 10.45-11.30 Mrs Cousins class with preschool staff.

8/7/25 (Move up Day) | 8.40am-11.30am: No Preschool staff or parents. 


         Drop to the main entrance of the primary school.

Reminder:

We accept government funding and payment through tax free childcare. Code required is: Niton Preschool.

 

9 months -1 year £7.50 an hour

1 year- 2 years £6.75 an hour

2- 3 years £6.50 an hour

3- school age £6.00


Plus £5.00 sustainability charge every week.

Government Funding: Make sure you confirm your funding every 3 months when requested.

Wrap around care

Breakfast Club for school age children: 7.30-8.25 am £6.00

Afterschool Club for school age children: 3.00- 5.30pm £6.00 an hour + 25p Snack



We’re so excited to announce that we’ve recently started using Famly, an all-in-one early childhood platform, that gives you real-time updates on your child's day straight to an app on your phone. 

 

This is a phased process we have already started with Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Phase 1 - Invoicing for preschool services (you will already be aware of this from your new style invoice received from no-reply@famly.co) 

Phase 2 - We are using the Famly system for signing in each day. 

Phases 3 and 4 will come in the near future.

For under 2's notification of sleep, nappy changing and meals.

Phase 4 - Introduction of Developmental Learning Journal.

For children moving up to Primary school, parents and grandparents welcome, a celebration of their time here at Brighstone Preschool, followed by ice cream after.

Friday 4th July: Last Day to book Summer Holiday’s

Tuesday 8th July: Primary school move up day across the isle of wight

Wednesday 16th July: Leavers Trip, with parents to The Isle of Wight Zoo, info to follow.

Wednesday 23rd July; Graduation Day at preschool : 1.30pm

Friday 25th July: Last day of term

Monday 28th / Tuesday 29th July CLOSED DEVELOPMENT DAYS.

Wednesday 30th August: Summer Holiday Club starts.

Monday 1st / Tuesday 2nd / Wednesday 3rd CLOSED DEVELOPMENT DAYS.

Thursday 4th September 2025. Return to preschool.
